The VJ Dance Project used the MA Systems MoCap sensors to detect the dance postures and dynamics of dancers and convert these into emotional expression via music and images. The dance concentrated on Modern "House" dance. The project was a collaboration between MA Systems, Zurich University of Art and independent VJs and dancers.
Studying multimedia interactivity in mobile applications, this project looked at the recognition of tai Chi movements using the MA Systems MoCap system.
Using Hidden Markov Modelling of the limb trajectories traditonal tai Chi sub movements could be detected and used to teach students Tai Chi.
This work, a collaboration with ETH Zurich, won best paper award at the International Mobile Multimedia Conference held in Kuala lumpa in 2009.
